The Committee on Reformation of Local Government administration in Lagos State on Friday called for a review of the functions, revenue and laws regulating the operations of Local Government in the State. Mr Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, Chairman of the committee, made the call while submitting its report to Mrs Shade Jaji, Lagos State Head of Service, in Ikeja. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that on June 29, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, inaugurated the committee to address the administrative governance structure and service delivery processes in LGAs across the state, for better grassroots service delivery. The committee was given a deadline of two-weeks to submit its report. Ojora-Adejiyan also called for a functional template to assess the performance of LGs, based on available resources, standardisation of departments and sanctions on officials and LG personnel involved in fraudulent practices.
